The White House is aware of the rampage in GameStop actions – and says officials are keeping tabs on the recent frenzy in commercial activity.
“Our economic team, including Secretary Yellen and others, is monitoring the situation,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday.
Ms Psaki added that the soaring stock market was a reminder of how markets do not necessarily reflect the health of the economy as a whole.
“It does not reflect the situation of working families and the middle class,” she said.
