The interruption took place while author Jonathan Metzl was discussing his book "The Death of Whiteness: How Racial Resentment Kills the Heart of America" ​​at Connecticut Avenue Politics and Prose.

Metzl is professor of psychology and sociology at Vanderbilt University.

A witness at the event told WTOP that while Metzl was talking in front of people attending the festival, a crowd of less than a dozen people – one wearing a megaphone – walked on the stage and was chanting to several people. times "this earth is our land" out of the bookstore in a single file line singing "goal".

The interruption did not last long and no physical contact between the protesters and those present was reported.
