Award-winning White Sox perspective Andrew Vaughn made the opening day team list. He’s not one of Chicago’s 40 men, so the team will have to select him.

Now 22, Vaughn is a former University of California star who the White Sox drafted third overall in 2019 and then signed a bonus of over $ 7.2 million. Vaughn hasn’t passed the High-A ball since then, but he’s held up in the minors, having cut .278 / .384 / .449 in 245 home plate appearances. He also looked ready for prime time this spring with a .279 / .375 / .459 line and six more hits (three doubles, two homers and a triple) in 61 at batting.
