HOUSTON – The White Sox had already made two double games in the first two rounds of Wednesday night's game against the Astros when they managed one of the rarest and most exciting games of baseball to finish the third – a triple game

The triple 5-4-3 dive was made possible by a slippery line-up and a bit of luck, in the form of a perfectly placed ground ball of Houston's number 9 striker, Jake Marisnick, and a third base player perfectly placed Yoán Moncada, which was positioned a few inches from the bag when the ball was hit.

Moncada grabbed the ball and touched the third goal for a fraction of a second before firing. Yolmer Sánchez, who then made a perfect pitch to first baseman Jose Abreu.

Tony Kemp opened the sleeve with a double in the right corner. Ivan Nova then hit Robinson Chirinos with a throw before facing Marisnick, who, despite being above average, was unable to beat Sanchez's throw.

The triple play was a first for the White Sox since July 8, 2016, when they had a setback in an 11-8 loss to the Braves in Chicago. They also turned against the Astros that year, May 18.
