Who is Cady Lalanne, the return of the trade warriors of Marquese Chriss?

The Warriors didn’t make any major moves on the NBA trade deadline day, but the team dispatched a pair of reserves to clear a few roster spots for potential players available in the buyout market.

Brad Wanamaker will travel to the Charlotte Hornets, and Marquese Chriss, who has not played this season and remains with a fractured leg, has been dealt to the San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors did not receive any current NBA players in the deal, but were given the draft rights from Cady Lalanne in the exchange from Chriss, Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported Thursday.

Lalanne, drafted 55th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Spurs, played one season with the Austin Spurs in the G League before a series of stints in various nations around the world. LaLanne replaced an injury in the 2016 G League All-Star game, averaging 12.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 26.3 minutes per game in the first half.

He is currently competing with Changwon LG Sakers in the Korean League, winning All-Star honors this season.

A four-year-old player at the University of Massachusetts, LaLanne is now 28 and isn’t likely to make an NBA rotation anytime soon.

A safe throw-in to complete the trade, Lalanne’s draft rights would have no impact on the Warriors’ current or future plans.
