Whole Foods, owned by Amazon, removes medical benefits from part-time workers

When asked to comment, Whole Foods did not answer the question of whether Amazon had played a role in the decision. Although Amazon owns Whole Foods and has made a point of integrating both, it is not necessarily involved in the cuts.

Whatever their implication, benefit reduction is not a very good thing for Amazon. Complaints about working conditions and wages have been hanging over Amazon for years, especially among warehouse staff and delivery drivers. It also reflects the more pervasive ills that technology companies (and their acquisitions) face in terms of compensation – the benefits remain elusive for many grassroots members.
