Why Bachelor candidates end up wearing the same dresses

At the premiere of “The Bachelor” on Monday night, two contestants showed up to meet Season 25 frontman Matt James, wearing the exact same red dress – but it probably wasn’t a coincidence.

Franchise alum Demi Burnett, who debuted in Colton Underwood’s 2019 season of “The Bachelor”, recently spoke about how the show’s producers bring contestants to accidental pairing moments.

“On my season, Heather [Martin] and this girl Laura, they wore the same dress, ”the 25-year-old explained on Us Weekly’s“ Here for the Right Reasons ”podcast.

“The producers tell you which dress they think you should wear, so they probably wanted to stir something up.”

However, this pattern can backfire. “Heather and daughter Laura looked at each other and they were like, ‘Oh my gosh we’re wearing the same dress that’s awesome!’ They’re like, “You look amazing in there,” Burnett continued.

“So it wasn’t a big deal and I feel like that is what happened this time too.

At Monday’s premiere, Alana Milne and Anna Redman both started their search for love by wearing Nookie’s ‘Viva’ dress ($ 269), which features a bodycon fit, convertible straps and a subtle mermaid silhouette. .

Burnett described the packaging for his season of “The Bachelor” as “a nightmare.”

“Well, I was poor before, I didn’t have any money,” she says. “So I spent my last paycheck and just bought a bunch of dresses on sale at Dillard. This is where I found all of my rose ceremony dresses, cocktail dresses, swimwear and stuff like that.

Burnett’s parents went for a particularly special look.

“For my evening dress, I was talking to my parents and I was like, ‘I really need a good dress for this. It’s like a huge moment. They were like, ‘OK, let’s go buy your nightgown,’ ”she recalls.

“My parents bought me a dress. I guarantee the parents of these girls bought all of their dresses for them.
