However, at one point, the SIE developer Bend Studio had planned to include a system of choice allowing players to determine the actions of Deacon, which would most likely have had consequences on the unfolding of the story and its relationship with others. characters. We even saw the demonstration in many game videos, but whoever played the final version will know that this system is completely absent.

This sequence was shown in a May 2018 gameplay trailer and, judging by the text visible in the image below, would have had some effect on Deacon's friendship with Boozer. In the last part, however, Deacon simply shoots Leon, defaulting to the "right" option.

The same thing happens in a later sequence where Deacon has to leave a wounded Boozer to heal in a forest tower. Originally, the player would have the choice to give his rifle to Boozer to protect himself or take it for himself. In the final match, Deacon made the "right" choice again and gave his shotgun to Boozer. It is unclear where these decisions would have been made, but it is safe to assume that whatever they were, they all let down Deacon who made the morally correct decision, probably to make him a more sympathetic protagonist.

So why were these choices removed? Well, some time ago, the developers had confirmed that they had to somewhat reduce the story and that, therefore, the system of choice had to be removed. They wanted to tell a specific story and the system of choice would have meant that they would have to write several different versions of the story to match the player's decisions. It is quite possible that this translates into multiple purposes, but as the game is already long enough, with six hours of cinematic scenes, time constraints have probably resulted in the removal of the system of choice.

At this point, players are probably less concerned with this deleted game feature and are more exasperated by Past days audio bug that was not addressed in his latest fix, which turned the Freakers into silent killers.
