Why does Captain Marvel have short hair in Avengers Endgame?

Thanks to the end credits of Captain Marvel and the first official clip of Avengers: End of the game, the fans knew that Carol Danvers would be part of the heroic team of this last opus. What a lot of fans were not wait, however, was his new haircut.

Five years after the Avengers' group "killed" Thanos, a Captain Marvel hologram is participating in a call with Black Widow, War Machine, Rocket and Okoye. Instead of the mid-length shoulder look that she shows at the beginning of the film and in her own film, Captain Marvel offers a shorter, military-style cut, during the call. His new look might be a surprise, but according to his comic story story, we would all have seen that coming.

We do not know what Captain Marvel did during those five years, and no, we will not see his hair cut. Her cut hair, however, follows the words of writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, who renamed her character, in the comics of 2012. She leaned heavily into the past of Captain Marvel's fighter pilot to inform the look and exchanged the length for something more incisive. Perhaps we will know exactly what she has done during these five years during the sequel that has not yet been announced. Crossed fingers!
