At one point, the Democratic Party had adopted a seemingly moderate stance on abortion. Many of their politicians, including Hillary Clinton, even claimed that "safe, legal and rare" was the best approach to what they considered to be a complicated subject. These days are long gone. Now, abortion is a sacrament on the left that is grotesque popular and considered, quite ironically, as a basic human right.
Since the beginning of his term, President Trump has appointed two right-wing jurists to the Supreme Court. Judges Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh inspire fear among abortion advocates who believe the court change is certain to Roe v. Wade and Parenting Planning v. Casey in danger. As a result, a wave of laws crossed the country. Some states, such as New York, have eased restrictions and now allow abortion proceedings to end an impossible life at any time. Others, like Alabama, have extended early protections to life before birth through a heartbeat bill.
It is safe to say that abortion is high on the list of topics for the 2020 campaign.
This week, former Vice President Joe Biden announced his support for the Hyde amendment, much to the chagrin of his fellow candidates, who believe federal funds should be allowed to pay for abortions. Although his moderate stance on this subject closely matches that of his American compatriots, pro-choice politicians and abortion providers quickly expressed their disappointment.
But Planned Parenthood's enraged and consistent objection to Hyde's amendment is quite revealing.
The abortion giant commonly claims that abortions account for only 3% of whey. With this affirmation, they insist that no less than 97% of their mission is devoted to non-aborted care. It's really practical. However, this claim has been disputed by many people, including the Washington Post's fact-finder, who described it as "misleading." Elsewhere, Rich Lowry explained the trickery:
"The figure of 3% is an artifice and a dodge, but even if you take it on your own terms, it's not really a defense …"
"The figure of 3% is obtained by considering abortion as a service quite comparable to much less important services."
"Abortion is therefore considered a service that does not differ from a pregnancy test (1.1 million), even though a box containing two pregnancy tests can be purchased at the local pharmacy for less than $ 10. "
"According to Planned Parenthood's calculations, a woman who undergoes an abortion but also a pregnancy test, an STD test and some contraceptives received four services, of which only 25% are abortions, an aspirin, and say that half of what you do is an abortion ".
We know that Planned Parenthood's 3% claim is a lie, but they are still trying to pass it off as a truth. They have always known how confusing this sermon is.
If abortions are really a tiny factor in their daily operations, why then push to revoke an amendment that barely touches their results? Why the #BeBoldEndHyde online campaign if 97% of its daily activities are focused on other services?
Because they know that ending life before birth is their main goal.
In the last year alone, 332,757 abortions were performed in their clinics across the country. They dominate the trade of destruction.
At present, the Hyde amendment prevents clinics from using public funds for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or protection of the mother's life. Given that these three reasons combined account for less than 13.5% of abortions, I would say that Planned Parenthood desperately needs more money to fund its barbarity.
By asking more taxpayers for money, Planned Parenthood tacitly admits what we have always known: abortion is their main activity.
