Dwayne Johnson, better known as The Rock, is an incredibly fit guy. He even wrestled in WWE before taking on action roles, like Frank Wolff, his character in his latest film, Jungle cruise.
But, apparently, his abs get some people thinking. In a new video for Wired, he and his co-star Emily Blunt touched on some of the most frequently searched topics on Google about them. For Johnson, that meant responding to “what’s wrong with the rock abs.” (Check out that part of the conversation at 8:12 a.m. in the video above.)
While Johnson and Blunt both looked surprised at the question – they agreed it was “f *** up” – Johnson had a very specific answer.
“I think on Instagram,” he said, “all of these Instagram fitness models have these amazing six, eight, 12, 24 pack stomachs.” By comparison, he added, he is “a five and a half pack, sometimes a four and a half pack.”
The culprit is his past as a wrestler.
“But the problem was that a lot of people didn’t know [is that] I tore myself in a wrestling match, “he said.” I ripped the top of my quad out of my pelvis… and what it did, it caused a chain reaction and it ripped apart the wall of my abdomen. So … I had to do triple emergency hernia surgery. I had a tear, a tear and a tear. So, these are not perfect abs! “
Blunt joked, “You know what, it’s not his fault guys … what’s wrong with it? your abs? Where are your abs, you know? “
Then Johnson wrote down exactly what happened: “It’s called a wrestling match for 45 minutes, and the top of my quad came out of my pelvis. And my abductor jumped out of my pelvis.”
Like Launderer report noted in April 2013, the injury occurred during a match with John Cena at WrestleMania 29.
Even though he’s no longer fighting, Johnson continued to hit hard at the gym.
On Monday, he showed that he also shares his love of the sport with his second daughter, 5-year-old Jasmine, known as Jazzy.
