Why Halsey’s Pregnancy News on Instagram is Full of Rainbow

Halsey’s Instagram feed was full of sunshine and rainbows on Wednesday when the pop star announced that she was pregnant again after miscarrying years ago.

The “Bad at Love” hitmaker aptly wore a knitted rainbow crop top for his last photoshoot, revealing his round belly and possibly hinting at the concept of a “rainbow baby.”

According to Healthline, this term refers to “a healthy child born after losing a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth or neonatal death.” It is intended to evoke the image of a rainbow that appears after a dark or stormy period.

“Surprise!” Halsey captioned the photos, along with the emojis of a bottle, rainbow, and angelic baby.

On her growing stomach, the singer tagged her boyfriend, writer-producer Alev Aydin, who commented, “Heart so full, I love you, sweetness.” Halsey then answered, “I love you !!!!! And I already love this mini human.

According to People magazine, Halsey, 26, and Aydin, 37, have been dating for several months and the former has kept their relationship mostly private.

Halsey’s pregnancy announcement comes after she miscarried at a concert in 2015. Appearing on ‘The Doctors’ daytime talk show in 2018, the Grammy nominee recounted the traumatic experience while discussing her ongoing battle with endometriosis – a health problem that affects the uterus.

Artist “Manic” was diagnosed with endometriosis shortly before discovering she was pregnant while on tour.

“The next thing I knew, I was on stage having a miscarriage in the middle of my gig,” she says. “And the feeling of staring a hundred teenagers in the face as you bleed through your clothes and have yet to put on the show …”

“At that point, I was like, ‘I never want to have to make that choice ever again – do what I love, or not be able to do because of this disease. So I put my foot down, and I got very aggressive to seek treatment, and I had the operation a year ago, and I feel a lot better.

Several of Halsey’s entertainment peers flooded the responses to her latest Instagram update with congratulatory messages. “Euphoria” star Sydney Sweeney, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, actress Ruby Rose, former “Teen Wolf” student Arden Cho and model Emily Ratajkowski were among those celebrating the big news.

“You’re gonna be the biggest mom,” wrote Sweeney, who will star alongside Halsey in an upcoming TV adaptation of YA’s mystery novel “They Wish They Were Us”. “I look forward!”
