Although the actress made a video for Rainey Qualley, which features her sister Margaret Qualley and LaBeouf, the actor submitted his own cut and requested that his version be used instead.
On October 23, actress and singer Rainey Qualley, aka Rainsford, posted on Instagram that she and a team of collaborators made a “choreographed short” starring her sister Margaret Qualley opposite Shia LaBeouf.
The NSFW music video was for their single, “Love Me Like You Hate Me,” and it featured the two actors – who are now dating in real life – performing as a couple as they embark on a series. from intimate to explosive scenes. “It’s filled with love, pain, tenderness and rage and real pieces of my heart,” wrote Rainsford, who tagged a team including choreographers JA (a collective with Jordan Johnson and Aidan Carberry), cinematographer Natasha Braier and producer Luke Turner, the latter is an artist and frequent contributor to LaBeouf. Rainsford also included a “special thanks to Olivia Wilde”.
Sources say The Hollywood Reporter that the reason she singled out Wilde was that she was actually running the project and had agreed to do so on behalf of the sisters, especially Margaret Qualley, who she had previously worked with during the making of the short. Before this period expired, LaBeouf submitted his own cut of the video he worked on in partnership with Turner.

At that point, Wilde quit the project (writing “I Went Out”) and his name has since been removed from the music video because of what some have deemed LaBeouf’s unprofessional behavior. According to official credits on IMDb Pro, Turner is listed as the director of the video. The discord over “Love Me Like You Hate Me” escalated because LaBeouf had already been fired on Wilde’s film Don’t worry darling. As has been reported by Variety, LaBeouf was bumping his heads with others on this film during pre-production, so Wilde pulled it out due to a “no-bullshit policy” on his projects. LaBeouf has been replaced by Harry Styles, who Wilde was just pictured holding hands with as he attended music director Jeffrey Azoff’s wedding.
LaBeouf’s on and off-set behavior has been the subject of much discussion online in recent weeks after his ex-girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf in Los Angeles for sexual violence, assault and infliction of emotional distress. Representatives for Wilde, LaBeouf and Rainey Qualley could not be reached for comment.
