Since their marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been the subject of constant controversy. He seems to follow them wherever they go. But is it because Harry and Markle are acting selfishly and arrogantly, as the media claims? Or are they being harassed by the media?
The most recent hysteria was that of a set of rules given to the neighbors of the Duke and Duchess, but their drama began well before that. The rules are so ridiculous that the couple could be at the top of the list of worst neighbors. We have put together a brief overview of these stories about Frogmore so you can choose for yourself.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle create drama with the split of Kensington Palace
Before the birth of Archie, Prince Harry and Markle lived in a small two-bedroom cottage in the precincts of Kensington Palace, alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton. When it was decided that they were ready for a bigger house, they were first offered the One One at Kensington Palace, a luxurious 21-room home. However, they shocked the public when it was announced that instead of moving into Apartment One, Prince Harry and Markle would separate from Kensington and move to Frogmore Cottage.
Kensington's departure immediately triggered rumors of a tragedy between Middleton and Markle. After all, why would Markle want to get away from her sister-in-law unless they do not get along? But the royal insiders insisted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just needed more space and privacy than Kensington could offer.
Renovations of Frogmore Cottage by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Shock Taxpayers
Prince Harry and Markle were again the subject of controversy when it was announced that Frogmore Cottage would require major renovations before the couple could move in. In addition, Markle wanted a yoga studio and an apartment for his mother.
The public was outraged by the cost of these renovations, much of which would be paid for by taxpayers. Royal's critics quickly indicated that the couple had a perfectly adapted home in Kensington and that the move to Frogmore would require additional security measures, another expense for the taxpayer.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle insult their neighbors with a list of rules
The outcry over the renovations of Prince Harry and Markle to Frogmore had just died out when a new controversy hit the media. Neighbors of Frogmore Cottage said they received a list of rules to follow regarding the royal couple. Included in the requests, a rule that neighbors should not talk to Prince Harry or Markle if they were seen in the vicinity. Even a "hello" or a "hello" friendly would not be tolerated. If members of the royal family spoke to them first, they would be allowed to answer with a simple "hello," but that would be all.
Another rule was that the dogs of Prince Harry and Markle were not to be caressed, even if they approached the neighbor, and should not ask to walk the dog. Neighbors are not allowed to ask about Baby Archie or to offer to babysit. And nobody should put anything in Sussex's mailbox.
Naturally, those living around Frogmore were outraged and insulted by the rules. The district is occupied by senior officials and royal staff. These are people who know how to behave properly with a king, and the requests were therefore considered arrogant and rude. Even the queen does not ask for such requests from her neighbors.
When the media became aware of the rules and, thanks to a special report by The Sun, Prince Harry and Markle again angered the country. Buckingham Palace was quick to give an answer on behalf of Sussex. According to the statement, Prince Harry and Markle "did not ask for it, did not know it and had nothing to do with the content or advice offered".
Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle responsible for all the controversy?
The rules given to Frogmore's neighbors were imputed to a protective agent "too protective", but one must ask: why would the agent have thought to issue these rules? Did he know that the duke and the duchess were often annoyed by the little neighborhood talk? Did he try to be proactive with a solution that he supposed they would like because of their previous behavior?
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were very well received. The problem arises when you constantly ask for privacy and yet you are perfectly happy to take taxpayers' money for expensive renovations and a luxurious lifestyle. Unfortunately, you can not have both.
The Duke and Duchess may not have directly contributed to some problems with image problems, but their attitude behind the scenes may be questioned. Again, we can never really know what's going on behind the closed royal gates.
