Demi Lovato’s new documentary series on YouTube, “Dancing with the Devil,” revealed how Scooter Braun ended up handling it. Braun said in the March 30 episode that he actually wanted to say no to Lovato after his 2018 overdose. However, he eventually changed his mind. Braun shared what prompted him to take on Lovato as a client.

In previous episodes of the show, Lovato has discussed how the control her previous leadership had over her negatively contributed to her sanity. She explained how she worked with a dietitian, trainer and others. Lovato said they were monitoring his food intake and physical activity.
Due to Lovato’s mental health issues, she said the restriction was too much for her. Although she did not blame her old management for her overdose, she sought new direction after receiving treatment.
And Lovato would have had a person in mind.

Braun shared the story of him and Lovato teaming up for his music career. He claimed that Lovato wanted to meet with him only regarding the new management.
“I wanted to make sure that with everything she’s been through, I honored her,” Braun said. “But I had every intention of telling him, ‘No’. I felt overwhelmed at that point.
The director came up with a plan on how to drop Lovato lightly.
“We had a plan not only for how we were going to say no, but also for whom we were going to recommend,” he commented in the documentary series.
However, Braun eventually changed his mind.

While Braun wasn’t going to deal with Lovato, his conversation with Lovato made him think differently.
“Once she started talking and pouring out her heart and soul, we realized we absolutely had to deal with her,” he said.
Braun went on to say what he thought Lovato needed in this situation – not a manager, but a friend.
“She needed someone who knew what to do, but who didn’t need her to work either,” Braun said.
Braun’s client base includes big names of musicians such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Quavo. The manager was able to take Lovato as a client and add her to his list. Braun already having many other clients probably eased the pressure Lovato was feeling to immediately get back on the scene.
And after Lovato joined Braun’s team, she stepped in as a host on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and interviewed Bieber. Lovato shared on the show that Bieber’s journey and standing out from her struggles inspired her.
