Will Hardy Wool be the next American Idol?

LIVINGSTON – Laine Hardy, of Louisiana, is ranked among the top two in the final of Amerian Idol.

If Hardy wins, he will be the first native of Louisiana to win the show.

The three finalists, Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg, began broadcasting three hours live with an issue dedicated to the hometowns of their childhood.

Hardy sang "Jambalaya" by Hank Williams in honor of Livingston Parish.

Before the last episode, Hardy returned to Louisiana for some festivities, including a meeting Tuesday morning with Governor John Bel Edwards in Baton Rouge. During the meeting, Edwards proclaimed Tuesday "Wool Hardy Day".

The three-hour American Idol finale, which recounts a few moments of Laine's return to Louisiana, will air on Sunday at 7 pm on WBRZ.
