Will Robert Downey Jr be still Iron Man after Endgame?

It has been three years since I interviewed Robert Downey Jr. and the actor is as affable as ever.

At his press conference for Avengers: End of the game (read our review here)The 54-year-old actor was once again as charming, spontaneous and witty as on his role in Tony Stark.

I suggest that his career encompasses four chapters, the most recent of his age, while he lived with his father, filmmaker Robert Downey, father. He appeared in two of his films.

His second chapter began with a year Saturday Night Live followed by his big break when he was selected by James Toback to play in The Pick Up Artist, who established his character on the screen.

His third chapter began when Richard Attenborough chose him to play the lead role in Chaplin, a performance that earned him both a BAFTA and a Golden Globe and the endorsement of the famous director Robert Altman who calls him the greatest American actor, which he then proved in various roles.

Chapter four, of course, had been interpreted as Iron Man, which made it one of the few stars of the bank, if not the richest.

So, was it hard to say goodbye to Avengers?

Look, we are popular people. We are very used to close associations, to separate and to meet.

The President (Marvel), Kevin Feige, has provided us all the opportunity to continue to meet, almost like a regional theater or a traveling group of weird balls.

Did you know that End of Game ending before you start filming?

Well, knowing Marvel, an end is an end until they tell you that it was the wrong end.

All the major artists involved in this project have been interacting with the filmmakers for some time, which naturally followed.

But in the Marvel universe, nothing is definite because they have all the stuff in the book and all the devices you can imagine.

I'm not crazy about all the movies that take themselves too seriously. It's particularly funny for me to see how these superhero movies have become so heavy.

People are so invested, including myself. But there is room for a lot of lightness there too.

Speaking of goodbye, will it be about your latest movie as Iron Man?

Well, I am divided. We are, if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. Secondly, I know that people are very certain of what they do and what they do not do.

But today, the animation is not simply: "Will you put yourself in front of the camera and put on this outfit and talk like this guy we know?"

But you know me, how easily I can get bored. The fact that I am stuck for so long really means that they are still engaged at a certain level.

Do you share stories about your life with your children Exton (age seven) and Avri (age four)? (Downey's oldest son, Indio, is 25 years old.)

My own children? Who is interested in their father's life? (laughs) What interests him right now is his legos, his games, teasing his sister, trying to sneak into another Twix bar when no one is watching.

Does Exton have a Lego figure or a figurine on your part? Does he have a favorite figurine?

I do not know how they understand this in terms of marketing, but he was already very used to Hawkeye. Then it was Cap. Then it was Black Widow. Then he got stuck on Nick Fury for a while, because Nick is the boss.

He went to Iron Man several times. But for now, I think it would eliminate us all if he could keep the Guardians.

When will you come back to do the kind of movies that impressed Altman?

My wife (producer Susan Levin) and I made a movie of which I was really proud, who's called The judgeand I did some Sherlocks.
At the same time, I have a wide variety of interests. I am a musician and I love other forms of art.

But the disadvantage – if there is one – of having this long-standing relationship with Marvel is that you can not have everything.

So there are some things I have been waiting for a while and I can not wait to get back to.

We recently spent this holiday with family (with) Oscar Isaac … he is one of the fantastic actors. And he started talking to me about things (work) that I had not even thought about for a long time, like, "Hey, remember, Tale of winter … "I was like," Oh yes, Shakespeare! "

And we started talking about things we could do. I would like to find some of the actors and actresses that I like and maybe think of directing them into something.

It would be fun to go to the other side of the camera. Either that, or I would hate it. I would just say, "Oh my God, why do not we just turn the camera on me? I will show you how to do it! "

Trust is an important theme in End of Game. What is your relationship of trust?

It was said that I had problems with trust. And I was suspicious of the person who told me.

But what is it? Trust God, clean the house, help others. These are three main principles on which to support them. Trust God, clean the house, help others.

Is this what you teach your children?

Well, I guess so, but they have a very good mom. She is everything I do not do correctly.

One of our cats did not feel so good last night and she could barely sleep. So imagine how she takes care of me after taking care of cats because at home, I am the fifth wheel.

You have the son, the daughter, the two cats, and then I receive all that remains, which is a quantity.
