The Willamette Valley is now under a wind advisory that warns of gusts of up to 45 mph, forecasters say.
The advisory, which covers the Willamette Valley and the Portland and Vancouver areas, lasts from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Forecasters expect winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts of up to 45 mph.
The National Weather Service said gusts of wind could blow around unsecured objects and tree branches could be blown down. Scattered power outages can also occur, according to the agency.
The weather service urged drivers – especially those who drive high-end vehicles – to be more careful. The agency also urged people to secure outdoor items.
