During a performance of her first single “Whip My Hair” in 2010, Willow Smith surprised viewers by having her head shaved on stage.
The moment closed the 20-year-old musician’s “Willow in Concert: Lately I Feel Everything” event on Facebook Live Friday, which celebrated the release of her new album.
“I always shave my head at monumental times in my life, when things really change. And this is definitely one of those times,” Willow said in a backstage clip, adding it was the third. time she buzzed her locks.

The “Transparent Soul” singer first shaved her head as an act of rebellion during her “Whip My Hair” tour, when she was only 11; her father, Will Smith, later said her spontaneous move served as a parental wake-up call.
She then turned her head again for an intense art installation in early 2020, during which she also locked herself in a box for 24 hours.
And Willow recently inspired her mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, to launch her own trendy haircut.
“Willow made me do it because it was time to let go,” the 49-year-old wrote in a caption of an adorable selfie with her daughter last week.

Fans were in awe of the show’s brave finale, and Willow’s performance of “Whip My Hair” quickly began to circulate on social media.
“Okay, completely ripped at the end. Can’t wait to get this album!” a fan sprang up. They were also proud of her gender change: “Legendary behavior. She’s so metal I love her,” another tweeted.
