WASHINGTON, August 24, 2021 – Willow Tree Poultry Farm, a facility in Attleboro, Mass., Is recalling approximately 52,022 pounds of various chicken salads and dip products that may be contaminated with foreign material, particularly hard white plastic from the United States Department of Agriculture (FSIS) Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.
The various ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken salads and dips were produced from August 10, 2021 to August 13, 2021. The following products may be subject to a recall:
- 5 lb container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Chicken Caesar Dip” with expiration dates 3/9/2021 and 6/9/2021.
- 5 lb and 12 oz containers of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Buffalo Chicken Dip” with sale dates before 03/09/2021 and 05/09/2021.
- 5 lb container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Buffalo Chicken Salad” with a best before date of 7/9/2021.
- 15 oz container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Buffalo Chicken Salad” with sale dates before 7/9/2021 and 9/9/2021.
- 15 oz. Container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Chicken Nut Cranberry Salad” with a best before date of 08/09/2021.
- 15 oz container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Classic Chicken Salad” with sale dates before 07/09/2021, 08/09/2021, 09/09/2021, 09/10 / 2021.
- 7.5 oz container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Classic Chicken Salad” with sale dates before 7/9/2021 and 9/9/2021.
- 10 lb container of “Willow Tree Premium White Meat Classic Chicken Salad” with a best before date of 08/09/2021.
The recalled products carry the establishment number “EST. P-8827 “inside the USDA inspection mark. These items have been shipped to wholesale and retail locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The problem was discovered after the company received a consumer complaint and notified FSIS.
There have been no confirmed reports of side effects from the consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a health care provider.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be frozen and in consumer freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS regularly performs recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling companies are notifying their customers of the recall and that action is taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
