Wind forces set up closures at EDC, many leave after being asked to evacuate

Two stages – KineticFIELD and Quantum Stage – at Electric Daisy Carnival were temporarily shut down on Saturday night due to high winds.

Many people are upset because they thought the entire festival was closed and had left the Las Vegas Motor Speedway before discovering it was not true.

Shortly after, another tweet informed the "headers" that they were allowed to enter. However, many participants had already left the premises.

This is not the first time that there are weather problems at EDC. A sandstorm and wind forced EDC to shut down in 2012.

The weather could still be a problem Sunday.

WEATHER FORECAST

There is also a 20% chance of rain Sunday, but that should not be a problem for EDC headliners.

Insomniac, who produces the festival, sends the following statement.

The safety of all the head-ends, the personnel and the crew is our top priority. In conjunction with public safety officials, we will continue to monitor weather conditions and take the necessary precautions to ensure our head ends have a fun and enjoyable experience at EDC Las Vegas.

However, they did not explain how the confusion occurred on Saturday night or whether anyone could receive a refund.
