Windows 10 20H1 Build 18936 released with login without password

Microsoft is deploying Windows 10 20H1 Build 18936 under Windows 10 insiders in Quick Ring, with including support for authentication without password, a phone screen support for multiple Surface devices, as well as various patches.

If you are a Windows insider in the fast ringtone, you can update Insider Preview Build 18936 by going into settings -> Update and security -> Windows Update then checking for new updates.

Without password connection support for Microsoft Accounts

Windows 10 insiders can now use passwordless authentication with their Microsoft accounts after enabling it in Settings> Accounts> Login Options and Automatic Failover. Make your device without a password option.

"By enabling password-free login, all Microsoft accounts on your Windows 10 device will be upgraded to modern Windows Hello Face authentication, a fingerprint, or a PIN," Microsoft says.

After enabling the new feature on the next login, insiders will browse the Windows Hello configuration and will be able to watch a short video describing how a Windows Hello PIN improves security for their account.

Because Microsoft is deploying password-free authentication to a small number of Windows Insiders insiders, it is possible that the feature may not be available to all users in the Settings dialog box until it is transmitted to all users.

Microsoft also announced today support for public previewing of FIDO2 security keys in Azure Active Directory, a new feature that provides password-free authentication to Azure AD users.

The phone screen is now compatible with multiple Surface devices

The screen feature of the phone can now be used by Windows 10 insiders on multiple PC models after the latest driver update in Windows Insider rings (Marvell 15.68.17013.110) and support for Surface devices Laptop Surface, Laptop Surface 2, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 5, Surface Pro 6, Surface Book, and Surface Book 2.

Create events and reminders from the taskbar

For Windows insiders who want to add new events while going through the calendar, Windows 10 20H1 Build 18936 is now available with the ability to quickly add new reminders and events.

This new option will be available when you click on the date of the taskbar, just under the full size diary that will appear above the Windows taskbar.

General changes, improvements and fixes for PC

• We fixed a problem that was causing problems when installing games through the Xbox application during the previous flight.
• We have fixed a problem resulting in the potential display of the Photos dynamic vignette outside its bounds.
• We fixed a problem that caused the emoji panel to hang when high contrast was enabled.
• We updated the disk type text in the Task Manager Performance tab to now match the size of the other subtext on this tab.
• Fixed a problem that prevented items from getting in the foreground when they were selected from the drop list on the taskbar of some apps.
• We fixed a problem that could prevent updating the virtual desktop thumbnail in task mode after moving a window to another desktop.
• Running Windows Sandbox no longer requires an administrator privilege.
• We have fixed a problem that the composition string will not be displayed in some applications when typing with the Japanese IME.
• We fixed a problem that caused certain applications to crash when typing with Chinese Pinyin IME.
• We fixed a problem that caused the unexpected display of some games on a black screen when running recently in full screen mode on some devices.

Known issues

• A limited number of insiders trying to install Build 18936 may encounter installation issues with error code c1900101 due to a compatibility bug with a storage driver on their device. The device attempts to install, fail, and successfully restore the version currently installed on the device. A new attempt to install the compilation, manual or automatic, will not work around this problem. A fix is ​​coming, but there is currently no known workaround. Note: By default, the update will attempt to install (3) times. Users can suspend updates if they encounter this problem and want to avoid retry attempts.
• Insiders may notice changes in the magnifying glass with the current version. These are not yet ready to be tested, but we will let you know once they have taken place in a future flight.
• There was a problem with old versions of the anti-cheat software used with games: after updating to the latest versions of 19H1 Insider Preview, PCs could crash. We are working with partners to update their software with a patch, and most games have released fixes to prevent PCs from experiencing this problem. To minimize the chances of experiencing this problem, please make sure that you are using the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat developers and game developers to resolve similar issues that may occur with the 20H1 Insider Preview and we will strive to minimize the likelihood that these issues will arise in the future.
• Some Realtek SD card readers do not work properly. We study the problem.
• Tamper protection can be disabled in Windows Security after upgrading to this version. You can turn it back on. In August, anti-sabotage protection will become active by default for all insiders.
