Maximum Security entered the Kentucky Derby in 2019 with four wins in four races. He had to leave Churchill Downs with his perfect record intact. .
But the winning lap lasted about 15 minutes as a rider's objection was behind the first disqualification of the Derby story. Considered to have interfered with several horses during his race to first place, Maximum Security was quickly stripped of his title – with a long hit, Country House, claiming surprise on the course, taking the real "W.".
After the morning favorite, Omaha Beach abandoned the race with a breathing problemUnlikely, legendary coach Bob Baffert, featured a trio of thoroughbred favorite in Saturday's race. But the favorite bet, Maximum Security, which also won the Florida Derby, has apparently gone head-on on its course before the stewards consider the race and award only Country House.
