This year, for the California Craft Beer Summit (held until Saturday), the CCBA has been working with brew guilds across the state to create a California version of GABF. Winners of the first edition of the contest California brewers' cup have been announced tonight. The San Diego breweries won 37 medals – 16 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze.

Rip Current Brewing won two gold and one bronze medals, including a Best of Show for his Breakline Bock. This beer is one of San Diego County's most awarded beers, having won the GABF award to its international counterpart produced by BA, the Beer World Cup. AleSmith Brewing won the most medals with a gold medal and four silver medals. Resident Brewing took two golds and one silver, while Duck foot infusion and Burn beard both left with two golds.

Guild of the Year Award, awarded to the regional guild whose members have won the most
medals, went to the Sacramento
Brewers Guild of the region. Brasserie of the year, attributed to the brewery
which attracted the most victories in total, went to Brewed Crooked Lane on Auburn.
