A winter storm warning for the area is in effect until 8:00 pm. Friday.

The National Weather Service has announced that heavy snowfall and travel could be very difficult, if not impossible, in some areas, including Friday morning. The branches of the trees could also fall.

Total snow accumulations could range from 10 to 20 inches between 5,000 and 7,000 feet and from 20 to 40 inches above 7,000 feet.

Snow should fall in the White Mountains of Graham and Greenlee Counties, Galiuro and Pinaleno Mountains, Dragoon and Mule Mountains and Huachuca and Santa Rita Mountains, Catalina and Rincon Mountains and Baboquivari Mountains.

The Bisbee area is not expected to experience a winter storm until Friday morning.

A winter storm warning means that heavy snowfall is expected. Gusty winds and blowing snow are also possible. This will make trips very difficult or impossible, especially in the mountains.
