The Tesla Model 3 is an incredible car, there is really not much to discuss about it. It's a beautiful design, fast as lightning and containing the latest technologies available. However, for some reason, Tesla decided not to equip the Model 3 with a wireless charging pad.
So when we released our must-have Tesla Model 3 accessories, the number one on the list was a wireless charger.
There are a number of options available on the market today, including one offered by Tesla on the props page of their website. However, Jeda Products contacted us and offered to send us a sample of their products for review. We accepted and asked for the wireless charger and the new USB hub recently installed.

Jeda wireless charging pad: $ 99
This is actually the second generation buffer proposed by Jeda. The original trim was neither as beautiful nor well suited to the console as the second generation, constructed of superior quality thermoplastic. Once in place, the cushion seems to be part of the car, not a secondary market device. The Jeda Pad allows simultaneous charging of two phones compatible with a Qi device, but it also includes a function that is not available on any other pad that I could find, namely the ability to charge a phone horizontally.

The upper surface is designed to prevent phones from slipping and offers three times the grip of the first generation pad. The base of the cushion has four circular notches that fit perfectly into the recesses of the model 3 console and keep it in place.
The pad is designed to connect to both Model 3 USB ports and can provide 7.5 watts on each side, even when two phones are charging simultaneously. You can increase the charge rate to 15 watts by plugging the Jeda pad into the 12-volt power supply of the car.
Each side of the Jeda Wireless Battery Charger requires a micro-USB connection. You simply pass the wires through the two holes of the board and connect them to the bottom of the pad.
Since both sides of the tablet require a USB to micro-USB cable, they use both USB ports of the Model 3 center console. This creates a problem if you need one of the USB ports of your key USB to register TeslaCam. and video in sentinel mode. However, Jeda now has a solution: it offers a USB hub with three USB-A ports and two USB-C ports.
If your phone is a non-Qi device, the Jeda pad also allows wire-based charging. However, a spacer is needed.

In addition, there is a bonus. The third USB port is in a storage compartment hidden by a magnetic door. When the three hub USB ports are used (both sides of the pad and a USB flash drive recording the TeslaCam), the passenger side of the pad will lose 0.4A of power, which will charge it slightly more slowly. Like the charger, the USB hub gives the impression of being very well made. It fits perfectly in place; In fact, it's so tight that I do not think it could come off. The hub looks like a permanent part of the car and not to additional equipment.

I expected both products to work well and they do it. I really did not know what the fit and finish looked like or how well they integrated the vehicle. There are so many replacement items for Model 3 now that you really need to make sure you do your research and find quality products.
The first-generation Jeda pad was not a great product, it did not fit as well and slipped a bit while the driver was spinning. It has been reported that telephones slipped from time to time in the lower console. The good news is that Jeda has corrected all these problems with the V2 and that it is now a high quality charger.
It has the ability to load a phone horizontally into the drawer, which can be useful if the driver prefers to use a navigation app like Waze, instead of Tesla's built-in navigation system.
The hub offers the flexibility of additional ports, necessary if you want to use both sides of the pad and register your TeslaCam, as well as the secret hidden compartment. It fits perfectly, is easy to install and looks like part of the car.
If I can find a fault, it is that since it is a new product, we do not know if it is reliable and it will last a long time . I will use both the pad and the hub in my model 3, so if there are any long term issues, I will update this post.
That said, I can absolutely recommend these two products. They are reasonably priced, seem to be very well done, they work as advertised and seem to be part of the car, not an add-on.
