Wisconsin boatbuilder set to create new jobs

GENOA CITY, Wisconsin (WMTV) – A custom boat maker announced Thursday that it will be moving from Michigan to Wisconsin, bringing new jobs to workers in the area.

According to Governor Tony Evers and Secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Missy Hughes, Grand Craft Boats will be leaving Holland, Michigan, for Genoa City, Wisconsin.

The 20,300 square foot facility will house the company’s headquarters and production operations. Officials say he expects to employ 20 workers within three years.

“Wisconsin’s thriving manufacturing industry and world-class workforce continue to attract businesses from around the world,” Governor Evers said. “We are delighted that Grand Craft has decided to move to Wisconsin. “

WEDC is helping support the relocation by authorizing up to $ 125,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years, depending on the number of jobs created and capital investments.

Grand Craft President and CEO Patrick Gallagher said his luxury boat business was excited to relocate to Wisconsin.

“Our products are a perfect fit with Wisconsin’s deep tradition of lake recreation and outdoor enjoyment,” said Gallagher. “We are delighted to continue to grow our business here.

The business will be located at 1021 Williams Road in Genoa City.
