MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – Wisconsin health officials warn of an outbreak of Salmonella linked to green salads. Four people in Wisconsin were sickened.

The Department of Health Services says public health data from the outbreak in several states points to prepackaged green salads produced by BrightFarms Inc., of Rochelle, Ill.

BrightFarms is voluntarily recalling the following packaged products:

  • 50/50 Spring & Spinach
  • Butter Crisp ™
  • Harvest Crunch®
  • Crunchy by the lake
  • Powerful Romaine ™
  • Nutrigreens ™
  • Spring crunch
  • Spring mix
  • Sunny Crunch®

People are advised not to serve or eat these BrightFarms products, regardless of the expiration date. The packaging was sold to supermarkets in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana.

DHS says five people in Illinois have also been infected. The diseases were reported in June. One person was hospitalized.

The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating the outbreak. DHS says the list of recalled products could grow.
