Representatives in Wisconsin are investigating whether an illegal THC-infused vape cartilage company allegedly run by two brothers is linked to a series of vaping-related deaths and diseases across the country.
Twenty-year-old Tyler Huffhines and 23-year-old Jacob Huffhines were arrested earlier this month after investigators conducted search warrants in a Paddock Lake home and a Bristol condominium, both around 40 miles south of Milwaukee.
The raid revealed what Kenosha County Sheriff, David Beth, described to journalists Wednesday as a "major and major operation (drug)" involving the production of extremely powerful THC infused vape cartridges. Officials described the project as an "illicit drug empire," Fox reported.

Police said they seized about 1.5 million dollars worth of drugs and 31,000 vape cartridges filled with one gram of liquid THC, 100,000 empty cartridges and 57 jars filled with THC oil, 39 worth approximately $ 6,000 each. The cartridges would have been wrapped in brightly colored packaging to mimic candies. THC is the main psychoactive compound of cannabis.
The investigators said they discovered the operation after the parents of a high school student who had been sold a THC vape cartridge brought him to the police station. The boy gave information to the police who finally took them to the Huffin brothers, officials said.

"These parents were brave for what they did," said Waukesha County Police Captain Dan Baumann at a press conference last Wednesday. "They should be congratulated."

The discovery of the operation coincided with nearly 400 cases of vaping-related lung disease and at least six deaths reported in the country.

The Huffin brothers were being held at Kenosha County Jail on charges of bankruptcy, WISN reported. An investigation was underway and officials said that further arrests were likely, as investigators searched for other people related to the operation.
