The Wisconsin receiver, Quintez Cephus, recently reinstated at the university, and the team after being acquitted of sexual assault charges, will be eligible to play this season with the Badgers.

Cephus tweeted the eligibility update and Wisconsin confirmed it to ESPN.

Cephus returned to practice earlier this week, but his eligibility remained uncertain due to lack of academic credits relating to his expulsion from the university this spring for breaking his non-academic misconduct code.

He was acquitted of these charges on July 2nd. Wisconsin's Chancellor Rebecca Blank reinstated Cephus on Monday at the university, and he joined the team later in the day.

Cephus was suspended from the team in August 2018 after being charged with second and third degree sexual assault. The Wisconsin Sports Department policy imposes an automatic suspension on any student-athlete accused of a crime.

Cephus played 23 games with Wisconsin in 2016 and 2017. He was the team's broadest receiver in 2017 before breaking his leg against Indiana in November. The Macon, Georgia-based player has 34 career passes for 595 yards and six touchdowns in Wisconsin.

The 19th ranked Badgers open their season on August 30 in South Florida.
