Wolverine, X-Men and Sharon Carter stories explained

The falcon and the winter soldier is almost certainly going to bond with the X-Men characters, but it’s also going to bring a lot of Captain America drama in the Steve Rogers sequel. A new trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier dropped during the Super Bowl and this one has Sam-Bucky’s supremacy written all over the place from the jump – like it literally starts with Sam jumping and Bucky being bored … Throughout its all-too-short review of what’s to come in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney + series, there are plenty of Easter Eggs, characters, and comics to take a closer look.

Get a full breakdown with some comedic footage and shots from the trailer in the video above!

The entire opening footage of the trailer is a reference to Cap jumping out of a plane without a parachute, which we saw of him in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and I can’t help but feel like Bucky’s question, “What’s our plan?” is a reference to Iron Man saying, “I have a plan. Attack. “Before jumping from a Quinjet in The Avengers. Then again, the Avengers love theaters.

The skyline we see is Madripoor, a place Disney couldn’t use until they bought Fox and reclaimed all the rights to the X-Men movie. Madripoor is essentially a super corrupt city that literally exists on its own island in South East Asia. He protects his criminals from extradition and has strong ties to mutant characters, particularly Wolverine, who – in the comics – fought on Madripoor during WWII – interestingly he did. team with Cap. Will all of this matter here? Perhaps. WandaVision seems to have a lot of X-Men nods, but it all could be wishful thinking as we all can’t wait to see Kevin Feige do his version of stories with mutants.

The villain is Baron Zemo, he gets his full purple mask this time around. I first saw him put on this mask when the show was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, but I don’t think it’s been uploaded yet – not legally anyway. He’s back to try to rid the world of superheroes after failing to do so Civil war and he could end up on a Thunderbolts squad because he’s clearly delving into the too current tactic of dividing people up and with X-Men on the horizon, the Avengers all scattered, and whatever – he might try to drumming a small team of his own, if that brings us Red Hulk into the MCU, that’s what I’m here for.

There has been speculation that his purple mask in the MCU could be inspired by Thanos, which is probably nothing more than a fun idea, however.

Zemo’s Little Minions are Flag-Smashers, they seem to be a nod to Marvel Comics’ Flag-Smasher character, also known as Mark Gruenwald. If they follow his comic book lead, the MCU’s Flag-Smashers will essentially be radicalized Captain America haters who seek to create and incite chaos.

There is an interesting photo of a high ranking blues military uniform, it could be Don Cheadle’s War Machine. Cheadle said he was on this show in a recent interview and his Rhodie is pretty decorated.

It might be a coincidence, but there’s a massive Steve Rogers poster to Sam’s left, referencing, well … you know. Sam appears to mourn the shield given to him as if he had to give it up, which probably means that they cover up Steve’s choice to live in the alternate timeline and not just say, “Well he got old and gave this to me. The MCU thinks Steve Rogers is dead, and he could be after that opening streak in Spider-Man: Far From Home put it in the same commemorative video as Black Widow and Iron Man.

Sam throws down the shield. Bucky grabs it. In the comics, the two have been Captain America, so there will likely be some issues with that. A moment later, the tight photo of Falcon’s face as he flies appears to be the new equivalent of what Tony Stark shot inside his helmet as he spoke while flying.

Sharon Carter, who was last seen Captain America: Civil War, is finally back and she’s a total villain and she’s not only about to bail out Bucky and Sam, but I also think she’s going to be a source of information. We saw on a t-shirt that she was “WANTED” for breaking the Sokovia accords, so she’s probably spending time in Madripoor, maybe moving there during the shot if it wasn’t broken. , and get to know the nasty streets. Whatever Bucky and Sam are looking for, she probably has answers.

The American agent trots on a football field during a sort of large rally. This guy will pretty much be a government prop as Captain America’s new symbol, but his real name is John Walker and he’s been a hero, but he’s also been a villain and I can see Sam wanting that shield from him. and Baron Zemo wanting to use it to incite a sort of division.

At one point Sam gets that shield, because this pic of him with her is just awesome and I can’t wait for his whole costume to be Falcon-Captain America-d. I don’t think he’s throwing the shield on that blast, I think Baron Zemo is behind it because he’s just hanging out at the bottom of the frame, too cool for it to be a surprise to him.

A woman in the Flag-Smashers, likely a high ranking member and recurring character, gets the best of Bucky, which could mean she’s an improved person, and Bucky falls on the side of a truck and you can’t. just won’t stop you from being reminded of how Bucky fell from a train and from a mountain to Captain America: The First Avenger. Considering the manipulation of his brain, one has to wonder if this causes PTSD.

The trailer ends with a cute couple’s advice moment where they look at each other much like the way I looked at this trailer.
