The stage is set for Michigan to make a huge statement both on and off the pitch on Saturday night when the Wolverines host Washington at the Big House in Ann Arbor. The coaching staff may have managed to put together the best recruiting visitor group ever. Jim harbaugh with near double-digit Top100 prospects in three classes that will be in town for the festivities.
Who is the headlining visitor? It is debatable. USC’s five-star cornerback and verbal engagement Jackson tomorrow is among them. Santa Ana (CA) product Mater Dei recently suffered a season-ending knee injury, but he will always catch up with Ann Arbor with both parents. Jackson is set to spend a lot of time with the coaching staff, but also Michigan’s five-star engagement Will Johnson; the two bonded considerably throughout the recruiting process.
Five-star offensive lineman from Rainier Beach (WA) Josh Conerly Jr. will be back for the second time in three months as Sherrone moore, Courtney morgan and the company continues to push for one of the best in the country. Michigan will be in the unique position of working to impress Conerly against the program that most believe is his first favorite in Washington. Conerly will be joined on campus by a plethora of recruits from Washington state, including the 2022 primary target Marc Nabou, 2023 four stars Jayden limar, Caleb presley and highest ranked offensive lineman of 2024 in Isendre Ahfua.
The other major prospect not signed in 2022 is the five-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen, who will be visiting Ann Arbor for the third time. Nolen is also tentatively scheduled to travel for the Ohio State game as Michigan continues to battle players like Texas A&M, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida among others for their services. His two brothers, one of whom holds an early offer from Michigan (2025), will also be traveling. Nolen’s recruitment seems far from over.
In the 2023 cycle, five-star Detroit (MI) King quarterback Dante moore will be in town. Michigan has only offered three-quarters in 2023 and Moore is the only one they are actively recruiting. He will be the Wolverines’ first target in the cycle, regardless of his position. Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan State and Penn State are among the others after him.
Other 2023s to note will be five-star wide receiver Jalen Brown, five-star linebacker Jaiden Ausberry and linebacker of the Top100 Tackett Curtis. Michigan is understandably a factor for all of these prospects, with Brown in particular looking like a recruit that the Wolverines will stay in until the end.
Stay tuned to 247Sports tomorrow as we release the full visitor list and throughout the weekend as the team will have post-game feedback and analysis as well.
