A Florida woman captured on video kicking a dog and repeatedly suffocating her by pulling a leash was arrested for suspicion of cruelty to criminal animals, police said.

The video taken Friday was posted on Facebook by concerned citizen Vincent Minutello and collected nearly 3,000 comments. One hears the voice of a man reprimanding the woman for not treating the dog that way.

"You smother it," said the voice of the man. "You hang your dog."

"I will not hang it," said the woman on the video.

Michelle A. Sieber, 26, was detained instead of a $ 5,000 bond, according to booking information at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Seiber is the daughter of Rea Sieber, a city commissioner from Tarpon Springs, and lives in a motorhome often parked behind her mother's wine shop, reported WFLA, an affiliate of NBC News in Tampa.

Police in Tarpon Springs said they arrested Michelle Seiber in Clearwater on Friday after being contacted by Minutello and watching the video.

"The suspect is apparently a passenger and lives in his motorhome-type vehicle with two dogs," said Sgt. Robert Faugno said in a statement.

Police said Minutello also claimed that his girlfriend had seen the suspect aggressively throwing the dog into his vehicle on Thursday night. Michelle Seiber owned two dogs, which were seized and transferred to animal control officials, they said.
