Parents of the Brooklyn woman killed by a female shooter in a brazen felony filmed said the victim was lured to death by a phone call – and her killer was a “family friend” they recognized from after the pictures.

“She was in the neighborhood with us, she got a phone call, and when she got the phone call she said, ‘I’ll be right back,'” her longtime friend Shawn recalled Friday. Johnson, 43, referring to victim Delia Johnson, 42.

“Twenty minutes later someone called me and told me she had been shot,” he said of Delia. “I told him he was lying. I was standing right here with her.

Police released two enlarged photos of the suspected killer on Friday – and family members said they recognized her from the snapshot showing the woman’s face.

“I know her!” exclaimed Delia’s mother, Delia Barry. “Oh my God, oh my God, she used to stay with us. She slept in my bed, ate my food.

One of the victim’s younger sisters, Hadijah Pendley, called the suspect a “family friend who has come to our family events, celebrations, holidays – whatever you call it, she has come”.

The cops declined to comment. The motive is still not clear.

Another sister, Khadyah Barry, said: “I know in my heart that someone called her and knew what it was and set up my sister.

“No one can tell me otherwise,” she said.

Delia was talking on the phone on a crowded street in Prospect Heights on Tuesday around 9:40 p.m. when an assailant with a purse approached her and shot her in the head before casually returning to a double-handed SUV parking and walking away.

On the night of Delia’s death, Khadyah, 28, said she was looking for a parking space when she saw the ambulance, not realizing that her older sister was the victim they were taking.

“I ran down the street trying to reach her, but by the time I reached her they took her away,” recalls the sister.

“It’s heartless,” she said, crying of the shooting. “My sister didn’t deserve this at all.

Delia Barry said she just wanted to “find out what happened.”

“Why did you slaughter her like that?” The mother said sobbing, addressing her daughter’s killer.

“I just want to know why. What could she do to you that you couldn’t come knock on my door and tell me? I would have arranged it for both of you, ”the mother said.

“You are hurting families. I’m in so much pain, I don’t know what to do.

“She was my baby. … That person who shot my daughter, God have mercy on your family, for we curse each other when we do things.

The mother described how Johnson was her firstborn who excelled in piano and tap dancing and, later, caring when the mother’s health began to deteriorate.

“I will never forget when I was in so much pain and she was there for me,” Barry recalls of an operation she had and how Johnson was the first in the hospital to help her .

“I’ll miss her bringing me food when I’m not feeling well.” When a child can wash and clean his own mother, it is love.
