Woman says man fired a pistol at her, 3 years in the drive-thru Jacksonville; man disputes the claim

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Woman is shaken after saying a man shot her and her 3-year-old daughter in a Hardee drive-in.

But the man told News4Jax his account was different from his, saying he had never pointed a gun.

The incident happened Saturday morning off Baymeadows Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The man was told to leave the Hardee after entering without a mask, according to the police report. He then proceeded to the drive-through where the woman said she and her daughter came face to face with her gun.

The woman, Ava, who did not want to reveal her identity, said she was standing in line when he pulled up behind her and started using her car’s horn.

“Before I know it he’s got the window down, he said, ‘You have to stop talking about all this mess with your kid in the car. And he pointed his gun at me, ”Ava told News4Jax.

Ava said the man pointed his gun at her a second time, screamed and then left.

“I am still in shock to this day because this has never happened to me. I was born and raised here in Jacksonville and have never had a problem. I never saw anyone point their gun at me, ”she said.

Hardee’s surveillance captured a photo of the car, according to Ava.

Samuel Clermont said it was his car and that he was with his one-year-old son. He contacted News4Jax after the publication of the original version of this article. He shared his account of the incident.

“The woman’s car was in front of me. Of course, there were also a few cars in the line. She was waiting to go through the drive-through, but she was going the wrong way to line up to be in the drive-through, so I gave her a courtesy cock, or a courtesy horn, just to make sure that she could move around a bit so that she could go around it and turn around to get back into the crossing line the right way. When I did that, it all broke loose, ”he said.

He claims that Ava started to curse him. When asked if he had ever pointed a gun at her, he said no.

“No never. I would never do that with my son in the backseat,” Clermont said.

Clermont said he plans to visit the JSO on Tuesday morning to share his side of the story.

Ava said she was happy the police knew who this man was.
