Woody Harrelson looked calm and collected as he was seen for the first time since allegedly punching an over-enthusiastic fan in self-defense on Wednesday.

Woody reportedly got into a fight with a beaten man – who has not yet been identified – while dining with his daughter at the Watergate Hotel’s rooftop bar, Top of the Gate, on Wednesday night.

On his bike ride, Harrelson wore blue shorts, a white tee and flip flops with sunglasses and a trucker cap.

He was joined by a shaggy blonde haired friend who he chatted with throughout the outing.

The True Detective star looked like he was having a good day after a reported physical altercation with a fan on Wednesday.

Harrelson allegedly hit the persistent fan after the man took unsolicited photos of the Cheers star and refused to delete them, according to eyewitnesses.

The actor punched the man – who has not yet been identified – as he was dating his daughter at the hotel’s chic rooftop bar, Top of the Gate, around 11 p.m.

Police said charges were laid against the man, after he was questioned in his hotel room that night by investigators after fleeing the scene of the altercation – and he will face accusations.

However, Harrelson has not been charged in the incident – investigators say he acted “in self-defense”.

Police say the man – who police say had been drinking and has not yet been identified – rushed at Harrelson after the actor approached him and asked him to delete a series of photos he had taken of himself and his daughter.

Harrelson “approached the man and asked him to delete the photos,” Dustin Sternbeck, director of communications for the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, said in a statement after the incident, which was produced a few minutes after 11 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Harrelson then ‘came into verbal conflict with’ the man, who allegedly ‘rushed over’ the actor to try and grab his neck, said a public incident report filed after the end altercation was read. evening.

The man then fled from the star to his hotel room.

When police arrived at the scene shortly thereafter, Harrelson told them he had punched the man in self-defense – and several witnesses reportedly corroborated the star’s story, reveals the report.

Harrelson was questioned by police, but not charged with any felony.

According to the incident report, officers determined that the actor was indeed engaging in “self-defense.”

The actor shot an HBO series in Washington about the Nixon administration’s notorious Watergate scandal and the break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the famous hotel.

Harrelson and his 13-year-old wife, Laura Louie, had been spotted hours before the incident, just over a mile from the scene of the altercation, as the couple made their way to the National Museum of History and African American culture during downtime. .

Harrelson, 60, has three daughters, aged 28, 25 and 15.

It is not immediately clear which girl Harrelson was having dinner with when the altercation in question occurred.

Police said charges were pending against the man, who was questioned in his hotel room after the altercation – but, according to the report, investigators believe Harrelson was acting “in self-defense.”
