Woody Johnson return hangs over expected Jets coaching search

If, as expected, the Jets leave coach Adam Gase, they will be looking for a new coach. And that decision could possibly be made by the new boss, like the old boss.

Owner Woody Johnson’s mission as US Ambassador to the UK ends with Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20 (I know, I know; some people think there’s still a chance that this does not happen). Woody will be back on January 21.

The question then is whether Woody will instantly return to the fray with the Jets and whether they will wait to hire a coach until Woody can interview him personally. Woody could also be involved in England’s strategy and decision-making, given he is essentially playing the rope at the moment.
