Worry that his failures will give Beverley a boost

Patrick Beverley continued to play for the Clippers in their first-round series against the Warriors on Wednesday night.

A day of reflection was given to Steve Kerr, Golden State coach, compared to one of the great heavyweight champions of all time.

Kerr, questioned over a sequence in which Draymond Green had been found guilty of a technical foul during the 129-121 defeat on Wednesday night, said Beverley had tricked the referee into a bad choice.

"I did not think it was a good call," Kerr said. "You know Beverley is going to fail, and Draymond has returned, it looked like Tyson had punched him in the face."

With 10:53 to play in the third quarter and the Warriors to 11 points, Green was called for an offensive foul on Beverley. Green was then disputed with referee Marc Davis and was seen to impose a technical foul. Kerr said that he thought Green applauded and was trying to get more people into Oracle Arena when he was called for technical problems.

"Beverley is good at it," Kerr said. "He literally has his head back, I'm afraid he's getting hurt at some of those failures, but he's good at it, and the referees, they're often biased with the little guy who's out there.

"I did not like that particular call," Kerr said of the foul at the offensive. "I know Draymond did not do it, hence the technique, there is no doubt that Draymond was trying to get the crowd."

After the loss, which brought the Warriors' lead to 3-2, Green was caught off guard when asked why he was more "pissed off" than usual.

"Was I pissed off? I was pissed off?" Green said. "I have a technician.I think I do not care about having a technician? You consider that it's pissed off? You should look at some of my past times if you want to see pissed off."

On Thursday, Green was not responding to the media, or rather was not worried about whether Kerr could do it during his session with reporters.

The music resonated during the filming while Green was working outside, Kerr was struggling to hear the journalists' questions and asked twice to turn down the volume.

His request was denied twice.

When asked jokingly who was in charge, Kerr replied, "Not me, of course."

But Kerr said he would not hesitate to take responsibility when the Warriors want to close the Clippers in Game 6 on Friday in Los Angeles. Andre Iguodala could replace Andrew Bogut as a starter in a return to the Warriors' "death training," Kerr said.

"There is no question that I have to consider all of our options in terms of rotations," Kerr said, "and who's playing with whom and for how long." All that stuff – it's our job. "
