John Mayer may be looking to settle down.
When appearing on SiriusXM Andy Cohen LiveMayer, 43, was candid with his close friend Andy Cohen – who is the father of his 2-year-old son Benjamin – about his future as a family man.
When asked what was left on his bucket list, Mayer replied, “There’s only one thing left and that’s the wife and children,” adding, “That would be – that would complete everything. And I thought about this as recently as last night. My brothers are both married and have children. “
This isn’t the first time Mayer, who once dated Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, has spoken of his interest in getting married and having children. In 2017, he told the New York Times which he called settling down “the last frontier” and wanting the “baby with the protective headphones”, referring to his child in the crowd at one of his shows wearing noise-canceling earmuffs.

And while speaking with Cohen on Monday, Mayer said he felt ready to give up his single life to look after someone else.
“My father was 50 when he had me. I think if I work backwards he’s 50. Forty-eight, 50, but I did, so I don’t feel late for the party because I only now know I’m in pain. at the belly. all the frosting I ate on the cake of life. You just have to be done playing with your toy of me and my life and my stuff, “the singer said.
“I got to a point in my life where with this stuff I’m not completely tired, but my hands are kinda on my knees and I’m like, ‘Okay, I really explored the life of what can be done for me by me. So I don’t feel late because I would never want to have a wife and children while I was still investigating what would allow me to be explored by me ” , added Mayer.
For now, Mayer is a beloved uncle to the children of his brothers Ben and Carl.

Elsewhere in his interview with Cohen, Mayer talked about listening to the music of his ex-girlfriends and wondering if their songs could be about him. (Swift’s song “Dear John” would be about her, as would Perry’s “Small Talk”.)
