Patriot wide receiver Antonio Brown has been charged with three separate cases of sexual assault and rape, according to a federal complaint filed in South Florida on Tuesday.
The New York Times was the first to report the lawsuit.
The lawsuit states that on three separate occasions, Brown sexually assaulted Britney Taylor, whom Brown had hired as a coach, in June 2017 and May 2018. The trial in detail explicitly explains the three meetings, claiming that Brown boasted of one of the circumstances in the text messages that were included in the lawsuit.
"As a victim of the rape of Antonio Brown, deciding to speak was an extremely difficult decision," Taylor said in a statement. "I found strength in my faith, my family and the stories of other survivors of sexual assault."
Thereafter, Brown's lawyer, Darren Heitner, issued a statement claiming that Brown "denies every allegation in the lawsuit" and "will pursue all legal remedies not only to erase his name, but also to protect other professional athletes against false allegations".
Heitner also said in a statement that Brown had previously refused to invest $ 1.6 million in Taylor's company, and that "any sexual interaction with Mr. Brown was entirely consensual".
After a tumultuous but short term like Oakland Raider, Brown was released and signed by the Patriots on Saturday. The Patriots and Jets are scheduled to meet in the third week at Gillette Stadium.
