WWE and NBCU Commentary on WWE Edited Content on Peacock

As previously reported, Peacock is currently reviewing over 17,000 hours of WWE content to ensure it conforms to NBCUniversal standards and practices.

Peacock has previously edited several controversial segments of WWE past events such as Vince McMahon using racial slurs during a behind-the-scenes segment with John Cena, Booker T and Sharmell on the 2005 Survivor series.

In a recent New York Times article, NBCUniversal and WWE have given the statements below on the edited content.

NBCUniversal: “As with other shows on the Peacock Platform, (we review) WWE content to make sure it conforms to Peacock standards and practices.

WWE: “Peacock and WWE review all old content to make sure it meets our 2021 standards.

WWE Network – Peacock’s five-year deal is worth more than $ 1 billion.
