WWE Raw Results, Recap, Reaction (July 19, 2021): Superwoman

[ad_1]

Nikki ASH is our new Gross female champion.

How did we get here?

Charlotte Flair came out and cut a promo earlier that night and said she was the “creator of the book” and Rhea Ripley would never live up to her. Flair got so many emails and texts, then she heard a song from Becky and gently closed it saying that Becky Lynch was breastfeeding at home.

She listed her championship wins and announced that she was the only 11-time WWE Champion. Congratulations, Queen!

She was about to say that she didn’t have to face Ripley anymore, but Ripley interrupted that sentence. She challenged Flair for another match, but refused. Flair said she could beat her any day of the week and Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville took her word for it and made the game.

Ripley hit Flair with a nice German suplex and dropkick for a count of two, but Flair came straight back to the injured left leg. The referee had to restrain Flair so that she could be checked. I love this version of Charlotte.

Ripley was able to do a good Northern Lights suplex but Flair was happy with her. Ripley raised his legs on a moon jump attempt, then executed a figure four.

And then she hit Ripley in the face with the Gross women’s title up for grabs.

And then Ripley attacked her, leading Money in the bank winner Nikki ASH to enjoy it. She cashed and pinned Charlotte for the championship.

So like I said, I’m not into that almost Nikki superhero thing, but by all accounts it was her idea and they followed her. For this reason, I am happy for her. I’ve said in the past about Alexa Bliss that a wrestler should be able to enforce some of their own ideas.

While I’m not a fan of the current Alexa or Nikki stuff, it’s their idea and I support wrestlers can do their own thing.

I have been a huge fan of Nikki throughout her WWE career. Oddly enough, my favorite run of hers was with Alexa when they teamed up. Their friendship was really great and I was sad when it was over, but at that point I liked how it ended because Alexa was still in the mind games phase.

So now that Nikki is the champion, there’s no doubt in my mind that Charlotte and / or Rhea will come after her for Slam summer. Maybe Becky Lynch is making a comeback to remove Charlotte from the title photo? Maybe Charlotte will win the title next week?

It can go in several directions. Let’s see what’s going on! Congratulations Nikki!

Let’s move on to the rest of the show. For a complete overview of Gross, check out Claire Elizabeth’s live blog!

Challenger without limits and a new one Slam summer opponent.

Keith Lee is back!

Bobby Lashley and MVP were in the ring, and MVP admitted that Kofi Kingston’s remarks about Lashley’s sweetness were true. Women and champagne were distractions, and he apologized.

Lashley asked who was going out, and I and those present were waiting for Goldberg. I had Goldberg’s music in my head, and then this music that I didn’t know played.

Keith Lee!

Byron Saxton said it perfectly during the match – Lee has cruiserweight capabilities. It’s incredible.

The crowd was also on his side. He almost landed in the front row when Lashley picked him up by the barricade. Lashley harpooned him and, like the Kingston game, silenced the crowd because she was starting to anger him.

Lashley attempted the Hurt Lock and Lee was able to block it and return Lashley to his shoulders. Lashley immediately threw Lee on the mat and speared him for the win.

And then those sneaky assholes took him out.

We have all been diverted! Bamboos!

Goldberg walked into the ring and shouted “I’m next! “

Yes of course. Keith Lee meant more to me here. I have no interest in Goldberg coming back for another title match, and Bobby deserves better.

John Cena is back to tell us he’s leaving for another brand.

After getting the crowd excited, John Cena wondered why he had come back.

Look at the end of this, it was pretty clear what Cena’s role was here – pop a note.

Much of this segment, Cena called Roman Reigns an asshole (the beep machine went to work) and said he was going Slam summer face him for the universal championship. It really was the best part of the whole segment.

Cena’s presence here was helpful in livening up the crowd, but I’m not sure if he was expecting “What?” sung.

So he came here to Gross to tell us that it will appear on Smack down this Friday, and he will fight for the main Smack down Title.

And then Riddle came out to the songs of Bro. Cena stopped him after throwing the slides and said he understood all Bro’s stuff now. A Bro-off has started.

Welcome back, John. Please be more serious. This is when you are excellent.

The rest

Riddle and the Viking Raiders defeated John Morrison, AJ Styles and Omos

A bunch of big Riddle and Morrison parkour splurges happened after Styles hit his ass. Erik lifted Ivar over Morrison and owww man wrestling is real. Omos and Styles made the same cool place of Money in the bank where Omos lifts him over the top rope. Ivar went to the third rope and the crowd was in it, but he missed Morrison. The funniest moment here was Riddle pulverizing Omos and Omos went too crazy to care about the match. As a result, Morrison was pinned down by Erik. Even Styles at first couldn’t stop Omos from chasing poor Miz in a wheelchair. It was a nice crowd pleaser. Weird that there was no mention of Randy Orton or even an RKO from Riddle like last night.

Natalya and Tamina defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

Jax and Baszler were aggressive towards the champions. The challengers were getting boos, but when Tamina was tagged at Reginald, got involved. Still doing Reginald’s distraction, Baszler is pinned down, and they’ve all been surprised about it like it’s not the 80th time. But Nia finally realized it was Reginald’s fault and threw him to the sidewalk. He immediately became the next participant on the 24/7 title scene and won the title. It is finally where it will flourish.

Sheamus defeats Humberto Carrillo

Carrillo was aggressive and on top of Sheamus from the start. I saw Sheamus try to grab the immediate Brogue Kick victory like last time, but Carrillo was smart. Carrillo pulled on Sheamus’ protective mask. It was a good thing. Carrillo also bit his finger without the referee seeing it. Damn, yeah, that’s what I want to see from Carrillo. Sheamus ended up giving the Brogue Kick. Sad because he was a great version of Humberto I thought he would win and get the league game he deserved.

Alexa’s playground

Lilly is back. Awesome. Eva-Lution came in to interrupt Lilly’s big comeback and Bliss tried to get Eva Marie to have a one-on-one match with her, but Eva refused and tripped on her way out. She said she would destroy Lilly so now she’s tripping over some fake weed. Fresh.

Jeff Hardy defeats Karrion Kross

Kross debuted with NXT and Hardy eventually came out on No More Words and looked great. And Hardy’s Swanton didn’t touch, but his feet on the ropes in a pinfall did and Jeff won in a quick match. I absolutely wasn’t expecting it, and they’ve already made Kross stupid with the tagline and without Scarlett. Go get darkened by Samoa Joe, loser. By the way, this was apparently Kross’ first loss in WWE. HAAAA. It’s also her birthday! HAAAA.

Jinder Mahal loves replays

Mahal received cheers for saying that Drew McIntyre is not the winner of Money in the Bank. Mahal was there to recap the last few weeks of boring shit between them. Drew Mac got fed up and hit Shanky with a bunch of chair kicks that we all witnessed and felt nauseous. (Thanks, Dunn!) The crowd enjoyed counting the chair shots so well for them.

Jaxson Ryker defeats Elias

They gave Jaxson Ryker a gimmick match to try and make him forget and yes it didn’t work out very well. Without a doubt, there was a crowd noise. Will give credit for the superplex through the tables. It had the loudest reaction in the whole affair. This is what happens, Vince!

It was a hot topic Gross, with cashout, returns and debuts. But it was strange. Some strange decisions and even more revenge are to come. It’s a little frustrating, but seeing and hearing real reactions helps. Let’s see what happens next week.
