WWE Raw star’s friends want him to go to AEW

During a discussion about the WWE Draft, Dave Meltzer spoke about Chad Gable and said that there were friends of his who wanted him to quit WWE and sign with All Elite Wrestling.

Meltzer said, “Chad is always great. He’s still awesome. Lots of people – I know a lot of his friends want him to go to AEW and I don’t know what the contract situation is for him but he’s been so misused or buried or whatever it’s almost like you bring it up – but I think it would be absolutely phenomenal in AEW. He’s phenomenal now.

Gable was signed in 2013 and was pushed during his NXT days as part of American Alpha with Jason Jordan but he didn’t find the same success on the main roster.

In 2019, the decision was made to repackage him as ‘Shorty G’, but that name was dropped last year and he’s now part of the Alpha Academy tag team with Otis. They were moved to Monday Night Raw during the WWE Draft on Friday.

Bryan Danielson (when in WWE) and others pushed to do more with Gable because the feeling about him is that he works in the ring is on the level of someone like Kurt Angle.
