Although Raw numbers are down this week, SmackDown has seen its audiences increase 5.5% Tuesday night to 2.244 million viewers on average. This equates to a much higher retention than usual of 96% of Raw's audience, one of the highest in history.
The reason may be that CBS aired rebroadcasts between 8 pm and 10 pm in front of SmackDown, resulting in a 50% drop in ratings for this network.
SmackDown finished ninth for the total cable television audience, but dominated the 18- to 49-year-old demo with a score of 0.81. There was no major sports competition outside of a college basketball game on ESPN that drew 1.59 million viewers.
SmackDown was down more than 15% from the same week in 2017, continuing the recent double-digit downtrend.
