WWE is rumored to be putting on Tribute to the troops show next month. Last year’s show from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina did not air, but the 2020 edition of the company’s annual salute to service members of the United States Armed Forces will.
The 18th edition Tribute to the troops will take place at WWE ThunderDome, with service members and their families at several Army, Navy and Navy stations “in attendance” via the broadcast boards set up at the Amway Center in Orlando. It will air Sunday, December 6 on Fox as part of the network’s regular sports programming. The times change based on when that day’s NFL game airs in your area.
Tribute to the troops shows generally have a house show vibe, with angles and matches designed to be crowd-pleasing as the heroes overcome the villains. They are filled with appearances of celebrities thanking the award recipients for their service and sacrifice. It doesn’t usually have much of an impact on what happens on Raw or SmackDown, but they’re fun shows for people who deserve it and more.
