CM Punk returned to pro wrestling after a seven-year absence from AEW Rampage: The First Dance on Friday, August 20. The Second City Savior will be full-time in All Elite Wrestling going forward and he is expected to return to the ring at All Out on September 5 against Darby Allin.

Prior to Punk’s return, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was critical of The Straight Edge Superstar’s contribution to wrestling. Drew McIntyre shares a different point of view, however, and he’s admitted that anything that makes a positive difference in wrestling gets a boost from him.

“Just whatever is good for wrestling, I am everything. I was out of the company from 2014 to 2017, working for freelancers and with IMPACT, just trying to make wrestling a healthier and better place. . It’s healthy right now, it’s in an amazing place, obviously WWE is at the top and leading the charge. Anything that can improve it I’m all for. If that makes a positive difference, it’s a boost from me, ”McIntyre told Pro Wrestling Bits.

Punk has certainly made a positive impression in the wrestling world so far. His debut averaged 1.129 million viewers and a rating of 0.53 in the key 18-49 demographic. Clips of Punk’s appearance on Rampage have also been trending on YouTube, and his debut AEW t-shirt is PWTees’ best-selling t-shirt.
