Xander Bogaerts went flat Thursday night at the Rogers Center and scored a brace, which he used to do during the 2019 season.

But this double bagger was a little more important.

The double was the 50th of the season for Bogaerts, joining Rafael Devers as the second Red Sox player of the season to reach half a century. This is the first time in the history of a team that Boston has seen two players hit 50 doubles in one season.

With his 50th double, Bogaerts joins Alex Rodriguez (1996) as the only two stops in the history of the MLB to have 30 innings and 50 doubles in the same season, according to MLB.com Ian Browne. The 26-year-old entered the night from Thursday to Friday to hit .303 with 31 bombs and 105 RBI.

Devers, who had his 50th double on Tuesday against the Blue Jays, now hit .314 with 29 homers and 107 RBIs.
