While Xbox Game Pass is no stranger to award winning video games, a very famous title that has been around for many years is now available for it.
Xbox Game Pass has a habit of giving players interesting and coveted game titles – Game Pass even offers several games from Day One. But a very special award-winning title has been added which is a bit older, a video game originally came out in 1993, and it’s called Myst.

But now an updated and revamped version of Myst by the developers Cyan has dropped out, giving Xbox Game Pass users access to a game that many older gamers will hail as an absolute classic.
The new improved remake of Myst launched today and was immediately available for Xbox Game Pass. Originally announced in September 2020, the new Myst is also available for Oculus, Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Microsoft Store. It doesn’t appear to be launching for other consoles at the moment, but it could be available for the Switch or PlayStation at a later date.
Myst is the first game in a series of point-and-click adventures originally released on PC. The puzzle adventure has locked the player on a strange and mysterious island, forcing them to solve puzzles. There are several games in the series, most with the same kind of scary atmosphere and all with head-scratching puzzles. But developers Cyan recently remade the game from scratch, adding new graphics, a VR mode, better puzzle randomization and even what he calls “reinvented interactions.” And gamers can experience it again or for the first time with Xbox Game Pass.
It’s a great piece of video game history that is becoming more accessible to the next generation. The Myst The series is filled with award-winning titles, including Game of the Year. It is one of the few open world games without a fight, and it is considered one of the first games to attract “non-video players”. Its puzzles are still considered the most difficult in video game history, and it’s probably one of the older titles most deserving of such a nice facelift. Hopefully this is just the start, as it would be great for the gaming community to see remakes of others. Myst titles too.
