Microsoft adds new titles to Xbox Game Pass regularly, but it also occasionally removes titles from the service. While Xbox Game Pass subscribers never want to see their favorite game pulled from the lineup, Microsoft is giving everyone a few weeks’ notice so they can make a point of finishing the games before they get started.

Microsoft has now confirmed six titles that will be leaving the Xbox Game Pass lineup later in October. Some of these games are exclusive to the PC version of Xbox Game Pass, but most of them are available on PC and Xbox consoles. All six games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass starting October 15, so anyone interested can prioritize these games and ensure they play them for free through Game Pass while they still can.

Games leaving Xbox Game Pass on October 15 are Gonner2, Heave Ho, Katana Zero, Scourgebearer, Tales of Vesperia: definitive edition, and Swords of the Same: Momo’s Curse. Lift Hoi and Swords of the Same: Momo’s Curse are only available through Xbox Game Pass on PC, while other games are currently available on PC and consoles. Most of them are relatively short games, although someone who wants to beat Tales of Vesperia: definitive edition As long as it’s still on Game Pass it should definitely be given priority as it’s longer than the others, taking around 50 hours for a first game.

Xbox Game Pass games drop October 2021 list

  • Gonner2 (Console / PC)

  • Heave Ho (PC)

  • Katana Zero (Console / PC)

  • ScourgeBringer (Console / PC)

  • Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (Console / PC)

  • Swords of Ditto: The Curse of Momo (PC)

Among these games, the most popular is Katana Zero, a 2D action game that received mostly positive reviews when it was originally released in 2019. Katana Zero was so well received in fact that it landed a Game Awards nomination that year for Best Indie, but ultimately lost to Disco Elysee. Katana Zero is a fairly short game as well, so it should be easy for anyone who wants to beat it to do so before it gets removed from Xbox Game Pass on October 15.

While the Xbox Game Pass loses six games later in October, it also gains titles throughout the month. The turn-based strategy game Phoenix Point just joined Xbox Game Pass on October 1, and more titles are expected to release later this month. One of the most notable new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October is the Left for dead spiritual successor Back 4 Blood, which will join the Game Pass on October 12.

There will be plenty of other new Xbox Game Pass games coming in October, although Microsoft has yet to reveal its full plans for the service for October.
