Xbox Game Pass is soon losing a beloved RPG

The past month has been solid for Xbox Game Pass as a whole. After receiving new titles in What remains of Edith Finch, Flashlight III, and Injustice 2 to name a few, the service will now be dropping a few games starting in early February. Any of these games, in particular, could be a big blow to those who enjoy the RPG genre.

The new list of games coming out of Xbox Game Pass in early February has now been revealed. In total, five titles will be leaving the subscription service in the coming weeks, one of which is that of Final Fantasy XV. Previously, Square Enix’s most recent numbered entry in the long-running RPG series was available on console and PC versions of Xbox Game Pass, but that will finally end.

If you’re a Final Fantasy fan and you’re disappointed to hear about this development, well, it’s not that bad. Xbox has already announced plans to bring more Final Fantasy games to Game Pass during 2021. At this point, we don’t know exactly when these other installments of the series will arrive, but we should start hearing more. soon.

As for the other four games that will be leaving Xbox Game Pass soon, it’s a lineup that features a bit of diversity when it comes to genre type. Indivisible, Fishing Sim World: Professional Tour, and Sea salt leave all Game Pass for PC and console next Final Fantasy XV. Finally, Devolver Digital’s Grey will be the last game joining this slate on the way to the door. Unlike all the other games mentioned here, Grey was only available for the PC segment of Game Pass.

Fortunately, if you are saddened to hear that these games are about to be released, you still have time to play each of them. These changes won’t take permanent effect for two weeks from today, February 1, 2021. So if you want to try out any of these games before then, you’d better get started right away.
